I attended a girlfriend's baby shower here and was not impressed. The atmosphere seemed tired and stuffy and the sandwiches were on the stale side. This place needs a good sprucing up with more attention paid to both the food and its delivery to the table. I expected much more.

We have been to Paddington's four or five times and each time has been fantastic. The scones are always hot and made fresh for your party. They are truly the stars of the show! The service is excellent, always courteous and attentive. We always get the high tea, which features fresh vegetables which are purchased from the farmers market every morning. Excellent selection of teas, and we recommend the Jasmine Phoenix Dragon Pearl (green) or Egyptian Chamomile. The house tea is very good with milk and sugar. Will be back soon!

I just had the most memorable tea for my baby shower. The food and service were impeccable and I look forward to making this my new favorite tea spot. Thanks Paddington's for making my tea party so wonderful and I highly recommend to all

No choice in teas, sandwiches or anything. We were seated right away but were not served until 15-20 minutes later—and there were only 2 other tables (one with 6 people and the other with 2 people). The waitress/owner proceeded to take the first plate of the tier to put on our table and she dropped our grapes onto the table and the floor. She picked up the grapes from the table and put it back onto our plate but never replaced the other ones that fell on the floor. The waitress/owner was on the phone a lot and mistakenly given me milk in my tea when I requested for no milk. She picked up some stuff off the floor of the tea room (maybe some more grapes she had dropped), placed it in the Tea tray and then grabbed my new cup off the empty table by the rim. That was just gross! The lemon curd was all gone, but yet she offered it as with the Devonshire cream. She said she would bring us back some more but did not. Worst Tea experience I have EVER HAD! Would never go back and would advise others not to go there either.

For Beverly Hills on Robertson blvd this tea room is not cutting it. The decor is not charming and the food is just ok. I would not go back!

The best scones and service anywhere. We celebrated my sister's baby shower and treasured the experience. I would highly recommend this establishment.

I've been to Paddington's twice and both times have been quite enjoyable. The seating is a bit snug, but it's never crowded and the service is very attentive. Scones are A++!!

My friend and I had decided to meet at Paddingon's for lunch. When we arrived we were kindly greeted and immediately seated. The tea and food were tastey. Unfortunately, we encountered several young children who although were with their parents, lacked much needed supervision. At one point it got so bad that an object was thrown by one of the children almost striking my friend in the head. The Paddington staff did nothing to address this problem and continued to give the children full reign of the establishment. As a result I ended up speaking to the parents of these children so that some form of control could be had. It was a disappointment. I'm sure that Paddington's can be a great place to enjoy good tea, good food, and good friends. It's a shame that they lack the ability to provide a place where all customers can have a positive experience. I have serious doubts about returning.

Beyond fabulous. Makes me miss my time in London. I've been to Paddington's 5 times and have never been disappointed. It only gets better each time!

This is by far one of the best tearooms I have ever had the pleasure to visit. Thank you for the wonderful food and service. You made my daughters baby shower truly memorable and there is a special place in my heart for Paddington's.

We were recently there for a family event. The place is amazing cute. The very authentic recipes from family were quite good. The food and overall experience certainly gave us a little of Britain. We were very much impressed by the service, quaint atmosphere. I certainly would recommend them for a very nice experience.

Was suprised to read so many less than stellar reviews of this well-established and equally well-loved tea spot. I've been going here for years and have always had excellent food and attentive service. I love the cozy decor and the pates and spreads are mouthwatering. I hope those who were disappointed are able to try again wit far better results

My friend and I went to Paddington's for the first time on Saturday, 6/9/07. We enjoyed the cozy atomosphere, and thought that the food was abundant and tasty! My only criticism is that if you want to order something besides the included house blend tea, it's an extra charge. Get there early to find parking, but well worth it!

Came here a while ago. I must say I was disappointed with the food especially the sandwiches. The place was cozy and cute and service was good, however that does not make up for the whole experience. The bathroom is very small - and does not look very clean. All in all I could have spent my money else where.

I was extremely disappointed in Paddington's Tea Room in Beverly Hills. First of all, after looking at their website, I was expecting an elegant looking place only to find out that the pictures that they posted on their website are of outside catering events that they have done. When quickly glancing at a website to get an overview, one does not realize that these are different pictures. That in itself bugged me. For the price of $25.00 you get a choice of decaf or regular 'house' tea. If you want any other kind of tea, any other flavor, it is extra and they hand you a menu which is like a wine list. You get a about 4 to 5 kinds of small finger sandwiches, which were mediocre at best. Then, we each got ONE scone with cream and jam, which was the best part of the tea. After that, one chocolate covered strawberry, one madelaine with raspberry filling and one nasty tasting coconut candy that was too sweet. I felt it was a total rip off. The worst part for me was when I had to use the restroom and found it to be deplorable. It looked like a beach bathroom. On a better note, the inside decor is very charming and cozy looking. Lots of pretty china and stuffed animals and pillows. Lots of stuff on the walls. I dont think I will be returning to Paddington's any time soon.

If you are looking for authentic Afternoon Tea this is THE place. If you desire an Americanized version of this British tradition you may be as disappointed as the negative reviewers above. This is the real deal. Not some chic hipster experience.

Maybe we went on an off day, but this place sucked! Nice waitress, but the food was terrible. The filling in the finger sandwiches was flavorless and skimpy. The dessert tray was a sad little joke. Contributing to the dismal event was a guy behind the counter talking loudly on the phone about picking up his Ford Explorer from the shop, about his trip to Vegas, etc. etc. It's still ringing in our ears. We headed straight over to Chado (about a mile away) for some quality time in a place that understands good tea and good vibe.

I recently had the pleasure of taking tea at Paddington's. What a wonderful tea room! The place is warm and cozy, with a relaxed atmosphere. They blend their own teas, which are amazing. I really enjoyed the Wild Strawberry. The scones were delicious, just out of the oven served with real devonshire cream and strawberry preserves. Paddington's is one of the few tea rooms where you actually leave feeling full-they give you plenty of food! Finally, the Chef creates these amazing tea infused chocolates to finish off the experience. They also have a tea bar where you can taste different teas, which they will cheerfully explain to you everything you ever wanted to know about teas. Paddington's is a fabulous place to go for tea!

Look carefully through their website and DO NOT be misled by the photos of fancy tables and tea set ups! Those are photographs of catering they've done at other places. The actual location is TINY and very cramped. We went there for a baby shower (14 people) and occupied half the room. The sandwiches were average, scones were decent, but the cookies and chocolate were not what they'd listed on the menu and they didn't bother to let us know. Also, while at every other tea place I've ever been to, everyone got to choose their flavor of tea and were given their own pot, this place offers a selection at an extra charge--otherwise you get their house blend out of one giant pot that they bring around periodically to fill your cup. The service was not fabulous and for the price, this place was definitely not worth the money. Highly NOT recommended.

One of the best tea rooms I have been to so far. Service was the best I have ever had at any tearoom anywhere in the world.. Cozy, friendly atmosphere, very warm and inviting. Wonderful sandwiches and desserts. Can't wait to return!

I've been to Paddington's several times over the years - I lived right in the neighborhood. Every time, I decide not to go back. The atmosphere is charming, but neither really oriented to children nor to adults. The service is always poor, though once we had a young man who tried very hard to make us feel like royalty. The food is not memorable. They do have a decent selection of teas, though. Chado has 300+, but you can get Assam at Paddingtons. Have a pot here, but not afternoon tea.

BE ADVISED: The pictures on their website are NOT of the actual place, but meant to invoke the ambiance of an upscale high tea, I suppose. We were disappointed at the reality (felt mislead) but found it quaint and cute nevertheless. It's more of a small, decorated tea shoppe with tables (expect Paddington the Bear rather than a Lord Paddington's experience). Food and tea were good, although service was not as attentive as we would have expected (I had to flag her down 3-4 times, but attributed it to only one waitstaff attending to 3 tables). But all in all, a pleasant way for 2 friends to spend a long, cozy afternoon chatting.

I just love when I find a favorite new place to take tea. I have had tea at all of the major hotels around Southern California and although Paddington's isn't a hotel they do not fail in delivering excellent food and service. The food was simply and beautifully presented with just the right amount of sweets and savories to keep all of my guests satisfied---Nobody left hungry! It is hard to find a good cup of tea in this city but their teas were excellent. My guests never had an empty cup of tea. Their bathroom is small but by no means was it unclean. All in all this was a wonderful tea experience and my guests continue to comment on what a great experience we had. Unfortunately I do not live in the neighborhood or I would be a regular customer, however I will make a habit of getting all the Red Hat Ladies on the necessary excursion. We will see you in for tea soon. Thank You

You can't tell a book by its cover. We booked our daughter's 21st birthday party based on how beautiful their websight looked, very classy. It was everything but that. Besides the surroundings being below average looking. The restoom was something from a third world country and not from the Beverly Hills address where it is. The bill was a little below $1000. that ment $50 per invited friend for the service of our own brought in cake , 1 scone per person some array of vegitables and small tea sandwithes for 20, without any assortment of sweets, yet tea galore. Was it worh it? Absolutely not! It shoud have cost more $20 per guest instead of close to $50. We have learned our lesson. Our next tea will be taken at the Peninnsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, where the ambiance and the food is worth what you pay.

Great place. The decor is quaint and country with cabbage rose wallpaper, wood accents, plenty of cute Paddingtom bears around. It's like taking tea at your English grannie's house. Very comfortable and relaxing. Great food prepared fresh and to order. Service was excellent. Never saw the bottom of my cup because the server kept it full and even went so far as to clarify if I picked up the teacup with my right or left hand so she could place it properly. Scones are to die for. Soft, warm from the oven and with perhaps just a slight hint of lemon. The street parking can be a bit tough so bring quarters. My advice, it's small and cozy; perfect for a quiet tea and a book so call ahead. If you're looking for something posh and ritzy looking and don't care if the tea and food is good, then Paddington's isn't your place. If you want a relaxing tea with great food, go for it. I understand why Paddington's caters to the Royal Family!

I am a Briton and living here in the United States, I am eternally on a quest to find the authentic tea room and service which reminds me of home. This is the closest I have found so far. They even have a wonderful tea bar to enjoy a good cup. I believe there are around one hundred loose leaf choices available---I chose a rare Darjeeling. The food was delicious and the service was delightful! They definately know their scones--I grew up in Devon and this is what a scone is supposed to be like. Not those rockcakes they serve at Starbucks. Thank you for creating such a great place to take tea and I will be in soon.

okay, this how me and two friends see it. we have never had tea with that many bears/stuffed toys present! its a bad version of a 4yr olds room by a 60s something with a fetish! as for the tea, PG TIPS PLEASE!! and the scones NO! scones are not lemony yellow uncooked balls of chewy dough.!! service was great though .

Haven't been here in years but a friend took me to celebrate my birthday. We had a lovely time and Jackie, our server, was wonderful. We requested vegetarian sandwiches and she asked if we would like egg salad. So glad she did as it was excellent. The sole disappointment is that the watercress sandwich in reality was tomato with a little cress. However, next time we will request more cress, and I'm positive they will oblige.

I am a world traveler and in my conquests I make it a habit of enjoying tea wherever I go. I found Paddington's by a mistake just as I have found many of my favorite places to take tea around the world. The ambiance is simple and very relaxing. The waitstaff is equally polite and attentive to the customer's needs. The food created it's own elegance through simplicity. I enjoyed assorted mousses on watercrackers with fruits, a crudite of vegetables with spinach puree, and assorted tea sandwiches. I love sweets and the crowning glory was the assortment that I received. Creme brulee, chocolate-dipped strawberries, lavender macaroons, and tea-infused chocolate truffles. Not to mention the best scone I have ever had. I highly recommend this place to all.
