We had a great time enjoying the royal tea on a sunny summer day. To escape the dreadful heat outside, we sipped on flavorful sparkling punch. The strawberry scones were to die for along with the many other tea treats along the way. We just had to purchase some of the adorable tea spoons with a tiny teapot on top. Will definitely make a return!

My friend and I really enjoyed ourselves at Gypsy's today. The staff is warm and friendly, their menu is extensive, their food is delicious, and the rooms are decorated nicely. There are so many teas and products available for purchase to take home, as well. We drove there from Baltimore and it was well worth the trip. We will definitely be back!

My mom and I have been going to tea together regularly for over twenty years and have been to our share of tearooms- recently we decided to try someplace new. After some research we found Gypsy's Tearoom. I really wanted to like it, I can usually find something to like even if it's not perfect. Gypsy's was a terrible experience. The staff was rude, there was nothing that I ordered that was even edible and the tea wasn't even good. (I'm not sure how they messed up tea but they did) The decorations were odd and shabby (and not in the chic way) and it was one of the most expensive tea's we've ever been to. If I'm going to pay eighty dollars for two people to have tea then it better be good. All in all it's not worth the time or the money to go here.

I love Gypsy's my mother and sister and I go here every chance we get and we have to drive 45 minutes to get there from Frederick. The staff is wonderful especially Mrs. Winter. The place is lovely and easily accessible. They have a bunch of different rooms on different levels and a wonderful and extensive tea list, also there are always a few teas out for samples when you first come in which is really nice so you don't feel guilty about ordering 4 different pots of tea.

Our visit Saturday was wonderful. Gypsy's was decorated for the holidays. We had royal tea. We selected Yuletide and Chai me for our tea selection. Both great. French onion soup and salad with roasted veggies were tasty. Sweets and savories were also well presented and very good. This was our first trip to Gypsy's and hopefully not our last.

Had an excellent tea on Saturday. My first visit but definitely not my last. We had the Royal Tea and I felt like I was royalty. Everything was woderful - the tea selection was extensive (took about ten minutes to decide which one I wanted - Honeybush), the food (the salad with grilled vegetables was yummy, as was the scone, soup, sandwiches, and desserts). Really enjoyed the fruit juice/ ginger ale served in a flute ~ a very tasty surprise in the middle of the meal. All the flavors in the courses. complemented without over-powering. There was a nice blend of warm and cool foods. It was a delicious meal. From the setting to the service to the food, it was an afternoon to remember. I highly recommend a visit to Gypsy's if you want an experience and a meal to remember.

Had a most delightful afternoon tea yesterday. I took a friend who had not visited this tearoom before. She loved it. We plan to visit again. The food was so yummy, especially the caramel scones and peanut butter mousse. Our server, Leah, was a very lovely young lady. The selection of teas is quite extensive; I think it is one of the best I've ever seen at a tearoom. A very delightful day at Gypsy's!

What a delightful afternoon we spent at Gypsy's Tea Room. We enjoyed a variety of flavorful tea and exquistely prepared afternoon tea fare. From the yummy fruit and cheese plate to the beautiful tiered presentation that included a nice assortment of tea sandwiches and sweet desserts, we were enthralled. Thank you for such a memorable afternoon tea! And the gift shop, oh my! So many treasures to tempt you!

LOVE this tearoom! I took my mom and sister here to celebrate my mom's birthday. We all tried the Royal Tea and it was absolutely delicious. I surprised my mom by pre-ordering one of their teapot cakes at the time I made the reservation. It was beautifully decorated and moist and flavorful. Tea choices come in large sized pots that are kept warm with tea cozy coverings. This tearoom is well worth the two hour drive (for us) to get there. Best of all, they offer gluten free menu items -- so hard to find in a tearoom, usually. I tried the Yorkshire Gold tea, my sister had the Assam, and my mom tried the Dragon Green Tea. We were all very pleased with the service and quality. One of the servers sang happy birthday to my mom upon the close of our meal - a lovely way to end our visit.

Our group was disappointed in this tea room.It was our first time at Gypsy's and we did not really feel like there was a warm welcome when we arrived even though we drove for an hour in a snowstorm to get there. The room we ate in was cold instead of being cozy like a tea room should be. The food was good but for the price we paid was not a satisfying amount. We have been to other tea rooms for the same price and got lots more food plus soup was included. It was a cold snowy day and soup would certainly been a welcome addition to this tea. We decided we will not be returning to this tea room.

Took my daughters and granddaughters for tea for mothers day. It was a wonderful experience for all of us. The food was fabulous. Only one comment The tea pots and cups were too gereric. They should be more antique and floral. I was disappointed with cups from ikea.

Not only do you have the ambiance of this historic building but a wonderful staff. I love the variety of teas. Each room is quaintly decorated for an intimate tea with a friend. It may have been my first trip there but it will not be the last. The food was delicious! A definite Maryland gem.

My daughter and I were truly delighted with our tea experience at Gypsy's. Food, service, ambience---everything was perfect! We were particularly impressed with the huge tea menu. In addition, we loved being able to choose the number of courses to suit our appetites. We have been to every tea room in our area (Hanover) but none compare to Gypsy's!

I have been taking tea at Gypsy's for years and it is wonderful every single time. The rooms are decorated beautifully and the servers are attentive but not hovering. The menu changes weekly and the food items are both creative and beautifully arranged. Gypsy's is very accomodating with special dietary needs and they also have a gluten free menu available. One of my very favorite things about Gypsy's is that you may have as many pots of tea as you want and may change flavors of tea as often as you want all included in the price of the tea!!!!Almost all other tearooms that I have been to allow you only one pot of tea and then charge you additional for any more tea you order. Gypsy's has a huge selection of loose teas and many other wonderful tea gifts for purchase. I can't say enough nice things about this tearoom!!

What a wonderful way to start the day!!! My son and I had business in the Reisterstown, Maryland area and knew our tea reservation was at 12:00 Noon. We concluded our business by 10:15 and decided to make our way to Gypsy's Tea Room. We just wanted to see where it was located so that we could spend time else where until our scheduled tea time. We went inside and was greeted warmly by Mary. She excused herself briefly and came back and asked if we wanted to be seated. WE WERE TAKEN ABACK!!! We were escorted to the Winchester room which is decorated in Black and White. A well-groomed young lady by the name of Kaitlin, took our tea order (tea menu was extensive). The next course was homemade Tuscany soup-DELIGHTFUL! The baby greens with vinaigrette dressing was fresh with herbs from the garden. The lemon-ginger scone with clotted cream and marmalade was flavorful-yummm. Chef Lora brought our fluted fruit libations which was pleasing to the eyes and tasty. Our server Kaitlin brought in our tea tier and explained what we were to soon enjoy. We did not have to compete with the Classical music that played softly throughout our tea time. My son, who was also celebrating his 24th birthday, and I reaped the benefits of the labor of the staff at Gypsy's. They were obliging, polite and genteel. I have one personal pet-peeve, I would have preferred real flowers on the table. There are flower gardens on the property. I highly recommend Gypsy's Tea Room if you want to experience phenomenal service with a smile.

I went to Gypsy's today with my mother, our first time there and we had the full afternoon tea. Our offerings consisted of salad with balsamic or basil ranch dressing, a butterscotch scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam, tea sandwiches (cucumber, salmon moose, ham salad and french baguette with apples and cheddar cheese) fresh fruit, and for dessert we had a light moose (tasted like gingerbread, shortbread cookie, and a chocolate cupcake creation) everything was PERFECTION. We absolutely loved our experience, it was all delightful and delicious. My mother and I were both happy with our tea choices, I had Anniversary Blend and she had Lingg Chung (I think). Both of us were very impressed. Our server was very sweet but seemed a little overwhelmed, she had us, two other tables in our room and I'm not sure how many others, but she was still sweet and did an excellent job. Other staff were very helpful and nice and very knowledgeable about the products. Jo helped us make tea purchases and was very helpful with information regarding the teas we were questioning. All in all a great experience and one that we would do again in a heartbeat! I also love that the staff was dressed in late 1800's fashion, it helped create a great atmosphere and really let you think it was tea time. The decorations were spectacular, the setup of the house is very quaint and inviting. The gift shop offers TREMENDOUS variety and selection of goods, and the tea shop does as well.

We visited this tearoom in September and it was practically perfect in every way! A welcome touch was found when we first walked in through the gift shop. They had a tea tasting bar, offering a few selections from their tea menu. This is an wonderful way to try something new without committing to a whole pot. During our Afternoon Tea, we loved the Gypsy's Blend and French Silk teas. The scone was an apple cinnamon, very good but a little desserty for our tastes. Our soup was a light and creamy zucchini. The sandwich course included a warm baguette with orange marmalade, granny smith apples & cheddar cheese (excellent), a smoked salmon mousse canape with cream cheese & capers (good), a roast beef with mayo, lettuce & tomato on a petit roll (also excellent) and a traditional cucumber sandwich with butter (great - nice and crunchy). The sweet course brought us a chocolate & caramel parfait with toffee bits (fabulous!), carrot mini cupcake (good and moist), and a shortbread teapot cookie (buttery, tasty). A small raspberry/kiwi sorbet was served with our check, a nice touch. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the tearoom is quaint, but not victorian fussy. It has a great gift shop, with one of the best selections of books on tea we've seen. We have always had a lovely time taking tea at Gypsy's!

Our family has celebrated meny memorable occasions at Gypsy's Tea Room. We had my mother-in-law's bridal shower there, my niece's 16th birthday, my own 32nd birthday and several other times just for fun! I have never had the same food twice and I have never been served something that was not imaginative and delicious! I have 2 daughter's whom I can't wait to take their for special occasions. You can't go wrong with Gypsy's for any reason. And I always leave there with additional scones and clotted cream to either enjoy later or for my dear husband and kids. I can't wait to go again soon! My favorite room is the 'Magnolia Room' which is located upstairs and is styled in my opinion for a good ol' southern tea. It is outfitted with wicker and just reminds me of warmer regions. I have eatten in a few of their rooms, but that is my favorite. Reservations are recommended as they are very busy because they are so good. They also have a large store area where you can purchase tea, both loose and bag, tea cups, tea pots and any and all accessories to accompany any tea need.

My Mother and I went for her birthday and it was fabulous. We chose the Royal Tea and everything was great. The scones were the best we have ever had, warm and melted in your mouth. The tea was bottomless and we chose 3, Gypy's signature was our favorite. Our server was great and explained everything being served, including the tomatoe soup of the day which was made with tomatoes from their garden, basil and topped with corn and cheese. It was delicious. The ambiance nice and the rooms were decorated well. Gypsy the owner was very friendly and a gracious host. We plan to go back soon. This is now one of our favorite tea rooms. Thanks Gypsy!

The home is perfectly decorated for intimate tea parties. I was very impressed with the presentation: food, tableware, room themes, etc. Gypsy herself was there to see that everything was satisfactory. Our waitress was a little off-putting, though, and I wouldn't like her serving me again. We shopped ~ quite a wide selection of tea items . . . possibly more than at any other tea room I've been to (in MD & FL). The owners have really captured the essence of a high tea and I'm very glad to have brought my friend to Gypsy's for her first tea experience.

What a great place! Had a little surprise party for my mom's 75th birthday. She was so happy and the service was great. All my sister and I had to do was show up and pay the bill. They even set up a separate room for the kids (and brave daddy's who attended a girly event). We had the Light Afternoon Luncheon tea. (soup and salad) and it was perfect for a mid day meal (most ladies were stuffed even with this light fare) I can only imagine the other meals to be even better. Thank you Gypsy and your staff. You all were marvelous. We will definitely be there again.

Last week, I invited 2 friends to join me at Gypsy's. It was my 4th visit, the 3rd for 1 friend and the 1st for the other. All of us enjoyed our tea and our time relaxing together. We've been to other tearooms but always come back to Gypsy's because everything here is just right; the food, the fabulous tea selection, the refreshing atmosphere, and wonderful service. Absolutely worth the drive to Westminster. They can accomodate groups so it's a great place for any kind of shower, Red Hatters, etc. We'll be back soon!

I visted Gypsy's Tea room several days ago,and it was lovely. The service was excellent, and the food was great. We had lemon-ginger scones that were absolutly delicious, finger sandwiches, fruit, and sweets. I had the English afternoon tea, which was very good. We were in the winchester room, which was beatuiful, but a bit dark. All the rooms are lovely, but after exploring I thougt the magnolia room was especially nice. The gift shop was astounding at how many tea themed items they had for sale! I purchased an adorable tea set and tea spoons. I will definetly return to this charming and beatuiful tea house!

Our experience a Gypsy's Tea Room was fabulous from the time you walk thru the door, then to the Very Hot Tea which is sometimes very unusual at the tea rooms we have visited. My little Brownie Girl Scout troop just had tea here and we thoroughly enjoyed it. If you can image an 8 year old face when told we were going to tea, well, let me tell you, they all had a wonderful time. We were not able to use the back house due to the weather but got a private room which was wonderful. The staff gave the girls a fun filled 'lesson' about High Tea, which they loved. The tea was delicious, the food was delightful and the teapot shaped cake that was made for them was extraordinary. The adults even got to taste some tea, which was delicious! We all loved the gift shop as well. I will return with my daughters!!

This restored home, the oldest in Carroll County offers an ambiance befitting an old English tea room. The selection and quality of teas is astounding as is presentation of the typical high tea is as I experienced in England. The tea arrives in an individual ceramic pot with cloth cozy. If you find your selection of tea not to your liking, they will provide another tea. The gift shops offer an assortment of incredibly distinct tea service sets, loose teas, and an abundance of gourmet items that would make a wonderful resource for anyone trying to create their own special gift baskets. The pastural setting is relaxing and the service is accommodating without being rushed. What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon with friends!

The first time I was at Gypsy's it was wonderful from start to finish. However, the last time I was there (April/06), I could actually taste chlorine in the tea. I don't think they use filtered water. Also, one of my sweets was actually stale. However, I would certainly go back! Everyone can have a bad day and we all deserve a second chance. Besides, it is a treat just to enjoy the atmosphere there.

Staff nicely dressed and very polite. Tea-room decor very nice. However, for the price the Afternoon Tea was very dissappointing. To be served a scone accompanied by preserves and whipped cream (although menu says clotted cream!) with the soup at the beginning of the tea is certainly not 'British style'!! What a delightful experience our Red Hat group had at Gypsy's. Their house blend tea is wonderful. The staff is exceptional. The chef created a wonderful Corn Soup which was to die for and nicely balanced with the tea sandwich selections. My only negative comment would have to be the drip catchers and tea cosies. The foam drip catchers were very stained as well as the cosies. Not very appealing. Other than that it was well worth the trip and I would definitely go back.

I had a surprise Sweet 16 party for my daughter at Gypsy's Tea Room on August 26, 2005. Our party (twelve in all) were given a private room that was beautifully decorated. The staff was cheerful and attentive and went out of their way to ensure the party's success. The girls greatly enjoyed choosing a hat to wear during their tea. The food and tea were outstanding and the cake I ordered from Gypsy's was perfect. My daughter told me later that she was thrilled with her surprise!

Gypsy's had an excellent variety of teas. We had the full tea and the food was tasty and abundant. We went away very full. The room was cheerful and nicely decorated, although the rug was dirty looking. On the down side, our place setting (which included cutlery) was laid on a soiled tablecloth, which was very distasteful. We watched another table being prepped between parties and that tablecloth was not changed, either. Also, the teapots had homemade 'drip catchers' attached to the spout, which consisted of a wad of extremely stained fabric tied on with a rubber band. Very cheesy and nasty looking.

The sandwiches were nicely presented and I have tried to recreate one at home that had something like almond-cherry flavored cream cheese piped onto a toast round. The atmosphere is pleasant in an old home (like 17 or 1800's). They have a small gift shop that included some Red Hatter items at the time. They also served a granita (flavored shaved ice) between courses and gave a teacup shaped chocolate with the check. I reccommend goign. With regard to the reviewer who's party was charged for the cancelled person, I would suggest this is a standard policy with large parties, especially at tea rooms that often make pastries, etc. in advance. They should have stated the policy though, I agree.

Wonderful food, great service, and a wide selection of teas, nicely presented. My friend and I are already planning a repeat visit. In our visits to tearooms in the Baltimore/Annapolis area, this one rates as one of the best!

What a disappointment. Took my mother for her 75th birthday. Was promised Christmas decorations would be up when we came. They were still decorating around the guests. Was promised a cake. Never saw a cake. Food was only average. Our teapot needed to be refilled but couldn't find anyone to do that. Service was extremely poor.
