Everyone was friendly at this tea room. The chicken salad and BLT were delicious. The cakes were just the right size and so yummy. Next time we want to try the scones.

My daughter and I went and we had a beautiful time. Lovely, personal service in an elegant atmosphere. My daughter and I split a high tea service--it was a lot of food! Delicious sandwiches, cookies and carrot cake. We will definitely be going back!

      Tearoom response:

I am so glad that you and your daughter had a great time, I hope your friend and her daughter also enjoyed their tea. Please come back and visit us. We are having a free tea tasting event Saturday June 21,2014 from 12 noon to 4:pm. Please join us. Hope to see you soon.

I have been back in a few years, but this is one of my favorite places in the city and thought college we went here every single Wednesday afternoon for high tea and grilled cheese. (Try the grilled cheese with you cup of PJ Tipps and you'll understand why!)

A very sweet place to have your grandaughters birthday party. There was one held there on Tuesday the 28th. The 7,8,9 yr old girls were dressed up so Christmas holiday style and they seemed to be enjoying themselves very much. I stopped in for some british groceries and found quite a few items I needed, I happened to find it driving by the skating rink. They are hidden, but well worth the find...I will be back...

Great tea shoppe. I had heard of it many times by my friends but only recently had a chance to go by. Very Pretty, lace tablecloths, linen napkins, hats to wear and dress up. Food was great and a good selection of teas offered. Gifts of all types and Christmas Candies, mince pies, crackers... Wonderful place, the owner has been out injured for several months, but she is a sweet heart. I will be back ... This is a must see place, hidden in Leon Valley.

The Monthly Live Jazz on Sundays is great. Carol's Shepherds Pie and Fish and Chips are so good. Well worth a visit. A nice place for a decent cup of tea.

Made reservations for 3 on Mother's Day at 12:00. Arrived on time with mother and sister. They weren't busy as only 3 of the 10 tables had customers... Ambiance: Decorations shabby, dusty, shoppe smelled like burnt fry-oil (burned our eyes), needed a good cleaning from top to bottom. Waitress took our order at 12:15 and by 1:15 we still didn't have our cold tea sandwiches. We ended up leaving after waiting an hour and a half. Will not be going back. I would've done much better at home.

I had to get a vehicle inspection at Firstone and the mechanics advised me of this tea shoppe across the street. I went over and the moment I walked in I was at ease. The music was soothing and the smell of fresh baking going on in the kitchen was warming. I walked around and found that they had a community puzzle and worked on it for a good 20 minutes enjoying every minute of it. I then sat down and enjoyed a fresh hot cup of tea and a freshly made mixed berry scone. I will return and bring friends with me. A fantastic calming location and a hidden treasure for Leon Valley.

I love this tearoom and I have been coming for years! I have gotten to know the Owner and Staff and feel right at home. Cream Tea and Afternoon High Tea is my fave on their menu! Both are excellent. This is the best tearoom in San Antonio. Sometimes there is a little bit of a wait but I have never been disappointed. If you are looking for a drive thru tearoom you need to go to Starbucks. This tearoom is like a traditional tearoom in a british neighborhood. Its a place where you can trult relax and spend the day. The Owner is all heart and comes from a british background. I'm sorry that two people here had such bad experiences lucky for me I have had nothing but good experiences for the past 5 years. Thanks Carol, I will be needing my english tea fix soon! xoxo :-)

Four friends arrived at 11:45 Saturday 10/3/09 for lunch. We were 'greeted' by the waitress asking us what we would like to drink. No 'welcome' or 'nice to have you'. We placed our order and waited. Finally, three of us received our tea even though the fourth had been given a cup and saucer. When someone came and asked how we were doing, she mentioned that she had not yet received her tea. We also asked about the bisquits and were told they would be brought out at the end. After a one and a half hours wait with no food, we left. There was another table with children and their service was just as bad.

A great place, I truly enjoyed it, the food, the interior, the employees and of course the prices. I will return with my friends and my mother, I'm sure it will get my mothers seal of approval. Thanks to the employees and the owner.

Great Place, quiet, elegant, nice music background, great food and service.. It is hidden behind a strip mall, but once you find it, you will be glad you did. Great place for child visitations and any get together you may want. I highly recommend this place to other fathers who need a place to take their children too. Good prices also and the employees are a laughable group they make you feel right at home. Thanks for a great father/ daughter outting.

Since I've been wanting to visit for several months, I REALLY wanted to like this tearoom. Sadly, I didn't. I had a similar experience that the previous reviewer had, but instead of a small group, there were only 2 of us. We ordered 2 scones. They were out of raspberry so we got cherry. Very, very small (2' in diameter) & definitely not worth the cost of each. In addition, they were also out of clotted cream for the scones. We also made the unfortunate mistake of ordering 'roast beef and vegetable' soup as an appetizer. It was definitely a can of Campbell's soup, a bargain at 4.00. Not! More bad news: They were out of Shepherd's Pie, so I ordered an English version of a steak & mushroom pattie. Who wants to go out to eat only to see the cook take out a frozen-solid, packaged entree from the freezer (that was in full view of the dining room)? On top of that, there was a 50-minute wait before it was served! How this tearoom is rated #14 out of 151 in Texas is totally beyond me.

I arranged a small 'ladies' birthday party for my adult daughter on Saturday, 12/13/08. I was told the tea room would be open at 11 am Saturday morning...(they had previously told me on the phone they were open at 10 am) I was also told there would be another group at the tea room Saturday at 11 am. Robby, a nice gentleman (chef), asked if we were ordering from the menu on Saturday...I said yes. He said they would be able to handle our group along with the other group. On Saturday, I arrived at 11 am. with my daughter. Two people from our group were already seated; they arrived at 10:45 am. (Tea room help arrived at 11 am also) Three or four people from the other group were seated. By 11:20 am all of our group had arrived, and by ll:45 - 12 noon our group had placed our orders. Three of our group ordered High Tea..the rest ordered sandwiches (one with soup). Our food started arriving 'piecemeal',(two or three orders, wait 10-15 min., then one or two meals, etc.) at 1:30 pm. We waited at least 1 1/2 hours for our orders. It was embarassing and disgraceful! One of our party has a 2 yr old and the server did bring jello, tea set, to pacify her. I have never waited so long for a meal and I'm sure no one else had either! The sandwiches were tasty as were the scones; but, the soup was 'canned' minestrone and biscuits were not served with the high tea meals as the menu stated. In conclusion, I will not recommend this tea room to friends and family. The Tea Room obviously took on more than they could handle with two groups. The other group had arranged for their party first and the owner and Robby should have told me they would not be able to handle both groups.

Love to go here - don't have to dress up - but once there you feel dressed up and like you are royalty the way you are treated. Don't be in a rush because it is a tea room with British atmosphere and character yet you can relax and enjoy a quiet, serene and wonderful lunch or just teatime. Great food, wonderful tea and great personalities of owner and personnel!

This place was wonderful, the employees were cheerie and fun. The food was great and delightfully prepared. The quiet, soft celtic music, and the beautifully lace done tables were worth the visit. It is a true British Style Tea Shoppe...plenty of good fun and cheer for anyone that visits.
