With my sister-in-law, I finally made it to my friend Patty's new tea room last week. Let me begin by saying I was not bred in the 'art of tea'. For example when I took my mom to her first tea a few years ago, the clotted cream was placed in front of her, so (with pinky properly extended) she ate it. I probably would have eaten it too, but she got to it first....Anyway, I had often been to the tea room where Patty was previously a partner and assumed that the menu was limited to light tea or afternoon tea as it was at the old place. I wasn't aware that Patty had a nice menu from which to choose salads or sandwiches, or that incredible artichoke soup. A quart of that would not have been a problem for me to consume...Having developed a wicked gluten intolerance of late puts much the standard tea room fare pretty much off limits for me, but with the lunch menu, I look forward to visiting again very soon!
