Jacqueline's Tea Room
My husband, daughter and I have been to Jacqueline's many times and my teenage son has also visited. I can save you a lot of reading just by saying that even he enjoys it and thought that Jacqueline was very nice as well. We have never had a bad experience there and love going. The only thing that can make it any better is if it was closer to where we live. We are an hour and a half away but think nothing of making the trip to Freeport just to go to Jacqueline's. She carries around a hundred teas. We haven't tried even half but it's hard to do because we can't get enough of our favorites which are Hot Apple Pie and Aphrodisiac. Her scones are always warm and not like many other places that taste like saw dust. The sandwiches are not only delicious. they look like they belong on the cover a magazine. Personally, I enjoy 'formal' tea and surroundings, but Jacqueline's is equally as beautiful with a touch of shabby chic meets Victorian lace. You can't help but feel calm and happy while you are there and since Jacqueline herself is always making sure your visit is perfect, you'd better believe it will be. We appreciate that it isn't just a business to her. Her home is not far away and when you go there, she treats you like guests in her home. She even opened once for my husband outside of her normal hours when he showed up unexpectedly to buy a gift for me. Oh, and the gifts, house wares, tea and accoutrements she also carries are beautiful. You probably won't be able to leave without some memento for yourself or a gift for someone else to bring the experience to them or your own home.
