This is by far the nicest tearoom I have ever visited. The decor is tasteful and not overdone. The owners and servers are friendly and knowledgeable. The variety of teas which the guests get to choose from is extensive. The sandwiches, soup, salad, sweets are all exceptional. Definitely worth the trip, even if you don't take in any of the Amish attractions in the area. Love it and go back every year, and usually introduce someone new to this rare find.

We chose this tearoom with great expectations given that it is rated the #1 tearoom in PA. Frankly we were disappointed. The other tearoom I have visited in PA is far superior in decor, service, and quality and variety of food and tea brought to the table. The chicken soup was good. But why the scones and other sweets were brought out before the soup and sandwiches was disconcerting to say the least. We were offered a pot of tea which was already on the table when we arrived. The chocolate scone and chocolate muffin were dry. The cranberry orange scone was pretty good. All in all we were very disappointed.

    Tearoom response:

Frannie, We are so very sorry that you had a less than desirable experience at The Parlor. Being part of 51 guests on that particular day is one reason tea was on the table when you arrived. However, your tea is unlimited and we strive to make you what ever you would desire. Scones are served before sandwiches and soup so you don't have too much sweets at the same time and give your pallet variety throughout the 6 course tea. We probably did not give the attention necessary to make sure that your needs were met and we do apologize.
