High Tea Cottage
Came this week on a trip through Los Angeles. We usually Tea in San Francisco but were down in LA on business and decided to check out the local Tea Houses, this one was highly recommend in over 200 reviews on the web and we found it to be exceptional! The best we went to by far. They bring a Tea cart to smell the teas before selection, I selected from the new Holiday Teas presented on an antique tray, Christmas and my sister chose Chestnut, wonderful! There is a jam cart for choice of jams from 5 different varieties, the Lime Curd is outstanding! All the food was amazing fresh, tasty and scones straight from the oven. We both ordered the Holiday Celebration Tea at $39 each. This consisted of 4 courses; we had way too much food, but ate every bit! The meal finished with presentation of a beautiful crystal pin each. Amazing! Great service; lovely ambiance; just like a true Tea House in England. Right off the 101 so well worth a stop by, we will even drive down again just to sample the delights here in the New Year. And, on a foot note, stopped by another Tea House in Cambria on the way home, the patrons we met there also raved about the High Tea Cottage and said it is the best in the State, we absolutely agree.
