  • Abigail's Tea Room

I visited this tea room for the first time earlier this month with my mother. I traveled from Georgia as an early mother's day celebration. When we arrived we were not greeted by anyone. We had to figure out on our own who to speak with, in regards to being seated. We had reservations, and our wait time for our tea and scones was close to 30 min. The staff were not overly friendly, and we got the impression they were very stressed and overbooked. They had several large parties going on, and we felt as if our twosome was not as important. The interior of the home was decorated nicely. Parking was a nightmare. We circled a few blocks 4 times waiting for a parking spot. So, be sure to leave plenty of time for parking issues. We will look for other tea rooms in the future.

    Tearoom response:

We are very sorry you did not have the best experience you could of had here at Abigail's. We do have a sign posted on the front door as to where you should go to check in. We do have very busy days in the tea room, and we do get many large parties. We do treat every table, whether large or not, as special, and we are sorry you did not feel this way. Our staff always strives to be extremely nice, even when we are busy. The problem we do have is that once our guests arrive and enjoy their tea and goodies, they do not want to leave, and this puts us behind. We do ask some of our guests to limit their time to avoid the over laps, but short of kicking people out?... We allow 2 hours for each table, and some of our guests still run over with all the enjoyment they are having. The parking is a problem on these busy days, and we always try to ask people to car pool, but this is not always possible. We are sorry about your day with us, and we hope you try to join us again in the future. Thank you!
