When planning our trip from England to visit family in Iowa we contacted Miss Spenser's Tea Room to enquire about their Special Events. The warmth of the response and the exchange of emails during the months before our visit resulted in a welcome so warm we were made to feel like lifelong friends. The attention to detail at the tea room is perfect in every respect and the entire Hardin family an absolute joy. The English tea-room definitely passed the test - right down to the delicious cream scones! Our relatives, who had not been to Miss Spenser's before, were really impressed, whilst we left Iowa with memories of our visit as one of the highlights of our holiday.

Dear Ilse and Alan...what a pleasure it was for our family to serve you and yours!! Of course, Miss Spenser and I felt a bit like Mrs. Cratchit were she had her 'doubts about the flour...' Serving tea to 'real' English folks was a bit intimidating...but you made us feel at ease from the moment you arrived! Thank you!! It is so exciting to have new friends now from 'Across the Pond!!' We hope that one day we can have teatime in England with you! So happy the scones passed the taste test!! And thank you so much for the Ridgeway Teas!! We are still enjoying them. Can't wait for your next visit.
