I have frequented several tea shoppes all over Northern Virginia, and The Things I Love is one of the best. The food was outstanding and plentiful, and the tea was fantastic. I was surprised at first that the tea was predetermined, since at other places you can choose your own tea from a selection, but the Summer Blend tea was superb. In fact, my friend and I snagged the last two boxes of tea to take home. A wonderful experience that I look forward to enjoying again.
The entire experience was delightful. The tea selection was impressive--I think there were 50 teas to choose from--and I had trouble narrowing down my choice because they all smelled wonderful. I chose the full English tea: my own pot of tea, a scone with clotted cream and jam, and an assortment of sandwiches, savories, and desserts. The tea was delicious, and the food was superb. Everything was so delicious. The price ($20) was more than reasonable. I have paid more for much less at other tea rooms. The service was excellent, and the variety of teas and accessories for purchase was impressive. The atmosphere was very relaxing. It was traditional (some guests wore tea hats, classical music was playing, guest spoke in quiet tones), but it was also relaxing and comfortable at the same time. I had such a wonderful time. I will definitely come back to Miss Minerva's.
