The Pasadena Chado boasts better service and atmosphere than its WeHo counterpart. They offer a generous portion of food for the price, even if the chicken lacked its advertised lapsang. Don't come here expecting a frilly chintzy 'old lady' cottage-style teahouse nor a Chinese teahouse; there is no gongfu to be had here unless you bring your own implements (we did!), and the only cottage-style features of Chado lay in its tea-sandwiched menu and the glazed earthenware Alice-In-Wonderland-esque teapots. I personally don't trust reviews by people who can't spell lavender and think that English scones make a teahouse authentic (the tea ought to rank higher than the bakery items in evaluating a teahouse, IMNSHO), and I find this a fine substitute for a gongfu-style teahouse until such a place exists in LA.
