One Steep at a Thyme
I have been to several tearooms in New Jersey (including two out of the top three ranked) and this cute little tearoom far surpasses all in the tea service, quality of the food, and cheerful attitude of the staff. The owner, Kathy, is cheerful and attentive. She takes care to make sure that all her guests are comfortable and adds little touches to the service ( like warm hand towels) that make all the difference. She is also very accommodating- I am a vegetarian and my mother is restricted to a gluten free diet, yet both times we have gone she has been able to whip up delightful cuisine that satisfies both of our needs. We were so impressed the first time we went that we decided to host my grandmother's 80th birthday here. About 15 people attended, and again Kathy and her staff impressed. The staff was so pleasant and accommodating for the whole party, which is often difficult for large groups. Overall, this is one of the best tea rooms I have been to and I plan on coming back regularly.
