Barbara's Victorian Teahouse and Boutique
I came here for a get together with a couple of girls and friends. Unfortunately, I came late so I was not able to guide my party into the place so I cannot say how the seating as at the beginning. However, I did enter and found my group and started my meal. Everyone inside seemed to be having fun talking in their tables and enjoying their food. When I sat down everyone was eating and finishing their soup, I got my soup a few minutes after sitting down and it was tasty since I have not eaten a bite that day. After eating my soup, they came to pick up my plate however I wished we an extra napkin to set our forks and spoons down since I used mine on my lap. After our soup, we got scones which looked more like a muffin but never the less, it was warm and pretty good, I like the apple butter very much and the devon cream was a bit sour for me but mixing it with the apple butter was good. When they gave us our tea, they would change them three times, the first serving with the soup and scone, the second round for the sandwiches and fruit, then lastly for the desserts. I recommended the Almond Toffee tea because that pot of tea just came and went! In total we got about 5 or 6 pots of different teas. The only complain I have is that it took awhile to cream each time we ran out. The sandwiches were pretty good, nothing really special but I enjoined the cucumber and cranberry chicken, the cranberry chicken were a bit too sweet and wish it was more savory but it was good. Lastly the desserts were okay. Nothing too fancy or much, just one 1 strawberry and a lemon curd bar. I wish they had a few options for desserts like other tea houses and the lemon curd was very sour but I gave it to my little brother and he said it was amazingly great since he likes sour sweets. Even after a few complains, the reason why I give this place 5 stars is because my ride did not come for almost 2 hours and let me stay inside and talked to me about their business and everything! The owner Barbara was so very sweet and their daughter Nicole was very reassuring to me that it's not a problem for me to stay inside! They keep doing their thing with cleaning and fixing up everything for the next day. Everyone in there is very sweet and made me feel at home until my ride came! One thing I do recommend this place to do this to build a way bigger sign on both sides of the streets because when I was driving, it was hard to spot out the place
