My niece and a friend and I enjoyed a delightful 'Royal Tea' experience on June 26, 2010. The atmosphere was soothing and intimate (small but not cramped); the food was dee-lish; and the tea was flavorful. We each had our own pot of tea, which I love in a tearoon. I liked that the food was not overly garnished (it was all attractive and presented in a lovely way), so there was no waste. I agree with Blanch -- too many garnishes add to the cost of the meal. The mixed berry soup was topped with a blueberry and a strawberry slice -- perfect and oh, so good! The mango French sorbet had a mint leaf and a blueberry -- again, just enough. The warm Brie tart was yummy; the salad was very pretty (and good, too), and I was glad the strawberry was dipped in milk, not dark, chocolate! All of the food was lovely and flavorful. I appreciated Blanch's personal attention to each guest/table and the fact that she asked our opinions on the food items. Oh, yes, she's definitely from the South! What a great sense of humor, too! The staff members were polite and proper (they came around to the side of the table with the items and didn't just hand them across the table); little things do make the difference! Good training goes a long way. At no time did we feel rushed; indeed, we were the last group out. Blanch, you definitely have the perfect personality/demeanor to be a tearoom hostess/owner. Congratulations on reaching the big 5-year milestone, and keep up the good work. Blessings to you and your staff and family.
