LaTeaDa Tea Room & Gift Shop
I have been to LaTeaDa MANY times....and I can't stop wondering WHY this Tea Room is not rated #1 in Illinois???; because it should be!! The house is wonderful, very charming and elegant. The little touches they have added are what make it such a neat experience. Music plays in the background, If you have made a reservation they put your name on a pretty plate at your table, they have pretty gold charger plates & teapot napkin rings at your seat, it is just a wonderful first impression. Their chicken salad sandwich is the best I have ever had, but don't tell my mother!!! I always force myself to have dessert, even though I am already stuffed from my lunch plate, which is usually bread pudding, but I love their coconut cream pie & Mississippi Mud cake too. Besides the wonderful tearoom, I love to shop in their giftshop. The jewelry is so unique and I have bought several purses from there too. For CHristmas last year I bought all of my nieces teapot ornaments and my sisters teapot nightlights. This year I will be bringing all of them to LateaDa for a 'girls day' so they can see how beautiful the house is at Christmas time. I am SO GLAD my friend took me to LaTeaDa a couple years ago, it is now my favorite place to go!! These ladies do a great job.
