What makes it worth it to travel from Mountain View to Campbell for a visit to Lisa’s Tea Treasures (Tea Room & Gift Parlor), 1875 S. Bascom #165, in the Pruneyard? It might be the warm welcome that Dale Ann Johnson and her staff provide on arrival or the atmosphere which is so comforting. It might be the knowledge that previous experiences will be matched with excellent service, wonderful familiar menu options (with something new to consider since a different monthly special is available to entice you), or that a delightful time is in store for you/your guests. The lyrical sound of bells signaling that patrons are ready to order, someone is in the shop area ready to purchase/take home a “find,” or a caller wants to make a reservation for their visit, event, or celebration only adds to the unusual setting. On my most recent visit, I introduced another friend to this gem for her first visit. Other parties included a group of four representing four generations; a pair of friends who announced where they were seated was becoming “their table;” and several others who were overheard commenting about the edible floral decorations, the sumptuous plates (delicious sandwiches, scone, savory, the dessert tray array) and the tea cozies. “Cozy” really sums it up…it is worth making the journey because the result is cozy!
