The Victorian Parlor
I had an Aunt visiting from Florida who had one wish during her visit….to go to a Victorian Tea Room that would take her back in time. I’ve never been to a tea room before and so I asked my daughter to research this. She suggested the Victorian Parlor even thought it was an hour and a half away. So off we went on July 5th, never giving thought that we may need a reservation. After our long drive we rang the bell and the owner asked if we had a reservation. When I said no and that there were five of us, she asked for a moment, checked and came back “we may have just enough” and requested a few moments to put things together. She did urge us to have a reservation next time as they may not always be able to accommodate. We all were very impressed with the atmosphere, service and food. We couldn’t finish and took our dessert to go. Each course was excellent in both taste and presentation. As the instigators we are, we started the hat craze in the dining area. There are so many fun hats to wear during your stay, we tried most of them. Others in the room began to join in as well and everyone had a great time. We were there for more than 2 hours and then spent time in the shop and the garden out back. This was such a treat and one that we are planning on going back too soon. This time we will try for the Peacock Room. It was such a great day. All I can say is fabulous!
