I usually do not give negative reviews but I was so disappointed with the owners I behooves me not to. I made a reservation for a party of 9 for Mother's Day.Before leaving home I called on the day to confirm my reservation. The owner Karen answered and when I gave her my name said that I did no reservation in the name. I told her it was fir 2:30 and could she please check again. She said the only reservation she had was at 3 pm. I was a bit confused and distressed and I explained to her I made the reservation myself. She said I would have spoken to her and she did not remember speaking to me so I was not correct. I told her that I did speak with her and she was the one that took my reservation. She finally agreed to check again and once again asked my name. Then she said yes she had it and it is at 2:30 we have connection so she could not understand me. I understood her the entire conversation so there was no bad connection on my end . However if this was true for her she was never apologetic in the least. I am also a small business owner and I know that I always put the customer first or there would be no business. I thought perhaps she would apologize when I got there since the connection was poor and she could not do it over the phone. Her husband was the one that seated us and though she helped to serve she never once acknowledged me. After some though I decided not to say anything as well because it may have upset my day. To be fair the husband was accommodating to us but it was my first visit and definitely my last. I hoped for a better experience becasue I tell my staff about growing up on an island that was once a British colony and how much I enjoyed going to tea with my mother who recently passed. I t was my intention to bring my staff one for them to have the experience and that will happen just not at Aylesbury tea room. The decor was quite charming though and the only other recommendation I have is that they put a table and few chairs with an umbrella outside so one can sit while waiting for there reservation. The place is small and we arrived early so we had to stand outside with no shade while we waited. Also, compare to the teas I'm accustomed to I found the food to be average.
