My mother, daughter and I came to Lancaster from Alta Loma (@ 2 hr. drive) for an appointment with Mom's CPA. Mom remembered a tea room we could go to before starting home. The parking area was easy to get into and clean and roomy. We laughed at the tea pot prints in the cement because loving owls my daughter has owl trivits pressed into the 'stone' (cement) stepping stones we made for around our turtle pond. We wondered around the lovely gifts while Donna was busy with her guests. She greeted us as we had come in and let us browse. Then we asked if she had room for us. She said she would be pleased to have us and brought us right in and made us comfortable. We felt like we had been invited to be special guests of hers. We love teas, black, red, green and white, but she had at least 30 tea... (more)s I had never tasted. I had to try something new, but it was hard to decide. When the wonderful, delicious scones arrived the cream was great, but my Mother cannot have anything with seeds. She had brought lovely Duerr's Raspberry jam. We all loved it, but Donna brought Mom some thin sliced Orange Marmalade. Mother loved it. The sandwiches were different, lovely and delicious. Then the desserts came. The chocolate mousse stuffed strawberries were to 'die for'. The lemon treat was my favorite since I can't resist lemon. My mother had the tiny apple pie and loved it. The brownie deluxe was such a treat that we insisted that my daughter have it all herself. We talked and ate and thoroughtly enjoyed ourselves. Donna came by to make sure we were okay. We never felt rushed or neglected. We had several pots of tea each as we enjoyed talking, relaxing, listening to the soothing music to prepare for the long drive back home. When we were the only table left, we felt able to talk with Donna without taking up too much of her time; of which she said she hoped that she was able to make everyone comfortable in her tea room. And we agreed. You could feel the warmth and companianship between the tables of tea parties. It was the most thoroughly enjoyable several hours we have spent in months. We go to tea often and would rate this as our favorite. I wish you were closer. After tea we bought a couple of truly different little goodies we Had to Have, you know, some Lemon Curd, Raspberry Jam, one of the beautiful little sandwich lifters, a Victoria Woman magnet, etc. The sandwich tool was shaped like a leaf, and as you looked at it you could see angel faces with halos and standing angles in it where first quick glance just saw veins in the leaf. I have several lifters, but have never seen one like it. What a truly blessed woman to be able to give such joy to others. You could feel her love and joy of sharing and the spirit in the room. Also our goodies were wrapped in pretty striped bags with tissue and folded over and a lovely ribbon with wire to hold the shape was put on the top. When we got home, it felt like we were unwrapping a gift just for us. And we were. We had been given the gift of love, calm, joy and the reminder that Jesus loves us and wants us to have joy. Man is that he may have joy. Thank you for a wonderful break in the hectic times we live in. Hope to see you every time we are in our area. - Linda, Alta Loma 09/12/07

    Tearoom response:

WOW ! I thought I was the one that was blessed by your visit. Three generations is a celebration in itself. Your sharing, loving and caring for each other was such a delight to be a part of. I look forward to serving you soon. Donna
