The Tea Leaf
My daughter and I attended the Jane Austen tour at Gore Place in Waltham. We were told that The Tea Leaf on Moody Street offers 10% off Afternoon Tea service if you bring your ticket from the tour, so we made a reservation. The tearoom and shop were so unique. So much offered for sale and a delight to browse. The tea list was extensive and varied and the menu seemed to offer something for everyone. We savored out three-course Afternoon Tea service and had lots of time to chat, not being rushed at all. The scones were chock filled with fruit and we received both cranberry and blueberry scones. The assortment of four tea sandwiches on both white and wheat breads were tasty and fresh. My favorite was the ginger chicken and their cucumber and cream cheese is to die for. The assortment of sweets included lemon tea bread with lemon curd and fresh strawberry, brownie with lavender frosting, shortbread cookie and a light, yummy cream puff. We will definitely go back and I couldn't wait to tell my friends about this great little find.
