On 5/12 I took my mother, an older friend and my 8 y/o daughter to the Queen's Tea. The owner was not there, we were told that she was at a wedding. The lady who was there taking care of things was very disorganized and seemed very overwhelmed. We were a bit late in getting seated, but we didn't mind. Service was VERY SLOW. We were there for almost 2 hours. Now, I don't mind a leisurely tea, but we thought at one point that we had been forgotten, so my friend went to check. We were assued that we would be attened to 'in 5 or 10 minutes'. It had been over 20 minutes since we had finished our scone. I'm not certain that we were even served the entire tea. First we had a salad, then ONE scone (which was excellent and very fresh) and then came a 3-tiered tray that had fruit, finger sandwiches and two kinds of cookies. That was all we were served for $25 each. This is not the service that I remembered from our previous visit which I raved about to all my friends. I do not begrudge the owner for taking some time off, but I really think that she should be certain that the people she leaves in charge can handle it. There was one man there and a younger man, but neither of them looked as if they were doing much. I think there was a large party in the front room, which was why we may have been ignored. I don't think we'll be back again.

    Tearoom response:

Thank you for being my eyes and ears while I attended my great nieces wedding. Those employees are now fired because of their sloppy performance. That is not how they were trained. As for the two men. One was my husband who was taking care of a kitchen crisis and my stepson. I do hope that after time you will give us another shot. I have a wonderful team now that is dedicated to the same level that I am. Sincerely, Lisa Renee Johnson-Lucia
