British Pantry
I went to The British Pantry yesterday and was totally disappointed. I had called to make reservations before I left and was told they were not doing anything as the kitchen lady had had a fall and wasn't coming in. We went anyway as they said they would make a decision when we got there. They were able to serve us tea and one scone and the charge was $10.95 each. I queried that I wasn't supposed to have received something else for that cost and was told no. They had NO FOOD to sell that you couldn't get at Wegmans now. They only showed one of most things, no crisps or anything special and only had Bangers in the freezer. I asked about this and was told they the lady that took over from Gerry, the previous owner wasn't ordering as much and that they were waiting for supplies to come in. This is same story I hear on any occasion that I have recently shopped there. I am not sure it is worth driving 60 miles round trip to go there again. Has anyone ever visited the British Shop that is supposed to be there in Old Town Alexandria. Do you know where it is? I certainly have no intention of ever visiting this establishment again.
