My mother, daughter, and I visited the tea room for a 'girls day'. The staff was very friendly and the Nursery Tea is a great selection and a great idea for the little ones to enjoy the experience. However, the adult tea left us dissapointed. The desserts were neither creative, did not seem fresh, and were just not good. The scones were pretty good, however we were told they were out of devonshire cream and would recieve whipped cream. Not the same thing at all and the portion of cream and jam to the great size of the scone left us dissapointed. The sandwhiches were nothing to rave about, we actually ended up leaving dissapointed and hungry. The tea selection was large, creative, and was good quality. Overall, the service was great, as was the ambiance. But don't we all go to tea for great ambiance AND great food?
Dear Natalie,<BR> I am very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with our Afternoon Tea. We pride ourselves on all of our food and it seems on this occasion we did not meet your expectations. We do import our Devon Cream (instead of making a mock Devon Cream as other Tea Rooms do), and at the time of your visit we had not received our shipment from England. I am sorry for that. As for the desserts, they are made fresh everyday and I can only hope that you will return to the Tea Room and give us another chance to impress you. Sincerely, Jo Gemmil, Owner
