Serenity Tearoom & Fine Dining
Just wanted to let you all know that the tea at Serenity Tearoom was fantastic! A friend and I went on Saturday, for the tea at 3:00 pm. We were lucky to find a parking place on the street directly in front of the building. We were seated near a window in a very pretty room where others also were having tea. There were fresh flowers on the table, and beautiful tea cups. The proprietor, Blanch, was very gracious and explained the selections we were to be served. We each had two finger sandwiches of an egg salad, cucumber salad and another kind, I think it was ham, but I don't remember (it was very good). That was 6 finger sandwiches each. We also each had a wonderful scone with our choice of jam, lemon curd and clotted cream; and a small slice of a pumpkin type bread that was delicious. The desserts for each of us were a huge chocolate dipped strawberry, with the thickest coating of chocolate I've ever had on a dipped strawberry, and two cute, delicious tiny tartlets. We had our choice of a pot of hot tea or ice tea from 50 possible selections of tea. When we finished our pot of tea, we were able to make another selection of tea. We had to continue with either hot or ice tea or there would be an additional charge, but as long as we finished our tea, we could have as much as we wanted. The food was delicious, and the desserts very rich and filling. My friend had the Serenity signature Strawberry tea, which was wonderful, but very sweet and syrupy. We both liked it very much. The tea was very reasonably priced at $18.95 plus tax and tip. We browsed the gift shop afterward and found some items we just had to buy; some silver tea pot earrings, a handbag with teacups, and of course, some loose tea. I highly recommend this tearoom for everyone. It is a quick drive up 270, in old town Frederick. I think the tea was much better and more filling than the one we had at the Pink Bicycle and much more reasonably priced. It was a wonderful outing with great company and gracious hospitality. I had a fantastic time!
