We were visiting Cambria for the July 4th weekend and wanted to have tea and booked a reservation at The Tea Cozy. The reservation process went off without a hitch except that the gentleman booking the reservation tried very hard to sell me on a very early or very late tea time because he was so concerned that we might have a long wait if we booked any other time. I sort of met him halfway and booked a noon reservation. We arrived a few minutes late (after I phoned them twice to let them know)and they were crowded but we were seated immediately. The service was a little slow, but not unbearably so. The sandwiches were by far some of best tea sandwiches I've tasted. The tea selection was good; several black and green varieties, about 14 herbal and/or decaf flavors were also available. They additionally have a monthly special list of teas. They also have a small gift shop. Pricing was average, $35 for a full tea for two. $9.95 for a smaller tea. They seem to cater to a lot of regulars as 'Barry' was a little more chatty with some other tables and some guests knew each other. Service was odd, at best. We had 5 guests and we wanted five choices of tea. 'Barry' explained that they really don't want to give us that many teapots and that the table would be too crowded. The table certainly could have handled 5 pots. He was, however, accommodating regarding sandwich variety. You never tell a customer that something can't be done! Additionally, when he came to take our order, three guests got up and went to look in the store and even though we were prepared to give him our order, he was obviously irritated that all parties weren't sitting at their seats. Lastly, we had to ask for water three times. So, bottom line, if you're easy going and can handle strange service, the food is great and you might want to check this place out.
