The Royal Tea Room and Gift Shoppe
First the negative: I've been there twice with different hispanic groups and both times I felt discriminated against... felt unwelcomed, like the step child. The service was almost as if they were forced to serve us. The server was sloppy, did not attend to us, we were ignored too many times, and if we dared to ask a question (God forbid) we were looked at and treated as if we were not good enough to be there. We met the owner and she only looked at us up and down. Made us wait 25 minutes before we could be seated. The good part: The food was good. The shop was really nice. Overall, the prices are higher than most places in Tampa but that's never a problem when you get treated with respect...especially when you have certain expectations. I thought I was going to have a princess like experience. I have not been back since, it's been a year.
