My daughter Kelsey and I were staying at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines and Resort for our summer vacation. We decided to visit the nearby town of Bastrop, TX. While in an antique store, the merchant told us to be sure and go to the grand opening of Tanalee's Tea and Sympathy. We are so glad we took her advice. It was the highlight of our trip! The tea room was whimsical and quaint. We really felt like we were in another world. The teas we chose were delicious and we enjoyed picking a hat out of the many hanging on the wall, to wear while we enjoyed our tea and fabulous desserts. This place fulfills every little girls dream - to have a tea party! Tanalee is a treasure! We sat and visited with her and within minutes felt like we had known her all our lives. She is a lady you want as a best friend. We stayed longer than we had planned because we just didn't want to leave. Tanalee is very knowledgeable about teas and allowed us to see and smell various teas before making our selections. This is a place we definitely want to return to! I highly recommend this tea room.
