My love of good tea has not waned as I've grown older. My favorite tea is Da Hong Pao, which is, of course, one of the most expensive teas you can find. I can't afford to drink it often, but I savor it when I do. I find it best if I have something sweet along side it, such as a cookie or piece of room temperature mochi. It is amazing. I'm a meditator, a writer, I've taught at Naropa University in Boulder CO which is where I'm living. I lived in New Zealand for 5 years where I was also a teacher and have travelled quite a lot to Australia and more recently to Asia including India and Northern Thailand. I go to a Chinese tea house in Boulder called Ku Cha. It's owned and run by a Chinese couple who are true tea aficionados. In the back of the store is a tea garden with traditional wooden tables. Some are very low to the ground with cushions, a couple are western style with chairs and family style seating. One of the western tables has a drawer hidden in the back - I started writing poetry and putting it in the drawer about 10 years ago. I am fortunate to have twice been a guest at a Japanese tea ceremony. I love the ceremony, but I must admit to finding the tea too bitter for my taste. I'm currently drinking Wu Yi Ensemble, which has some of the Da Hong Pau taste and when properly brewed is delicious. Not much of a bio, but perhaps I'll fill it in in coming months/years.

Have been going to KuCha for a long time, maybe 15 years or more. They are a truly traditional chinese tea shop and tea garden (with tables for tea drinkers.) Just about the only food or drink place in Boulder CO where you don't have distracting music playing. The owners (a Chinese couple) are true tea experts and the tea is brewed perfectly every time. They don't skimp on the leaves so the re-brew is as good as the first pot (or cup). It's my favorite place to go in Boulder to read and write. No wifi which I think is a blessing.
