Brambles Tea Room and Gift Shop
Keep in mind this is a Florida tea house. So it's a little bit strange that ice tea is served hot poured over a cup of ice. 'That's the way we do it here,' is how the waitress explains this odd practice, which results in warm, extremely watery tea. Brambles expresses disdain for its customers' convenience by advertising its willingess to take Visa and Mastercard, yet then refusing to split a bill evenly between two cards. I'm not talking about separate checks -- just an even split. The tea provided is bagged, not loose leaf and no refills are offered. Service is slow -- apparently Brambles is well aware of this since it offers an apology on its menu in advance. The Devonshire cream tea comes says it comes with strawberries. Translation: three small slivers -- approximately half of a normal-sized berry. 'Nuff said?
