Spotless white linens, fresh flowers and the unique China setting for each table gives a different 'feel' to dining at Tea on the Mountain.

But it is the food that counts and that is where you can't go wrong, whether a Luncheon, High or Afternoon Tea or Dinner.

The open inviting tea room has plenty of space for you and your guests. With room for 48 diners,we can accomodate almost any size party - with reservations always a good idea and requested for eight or more.

While you wait for you meal to arrive, browse the collection of fine china and silver on display around the tea room. Enjoy looking or even purchase a piece or two you just cannot live without.

Don't let the exterior of Tea in the Mountain fool you - even though it is in an old commercial building, the interior is lovely. Lots of art on the walls to admire and a nice of tea cups and tea sets to look at (and purchase.) We stopped in for lunch on a weekday. The food was delicious and the service by Mr. Pat was 1st rate - very gracious and attentive. The silver flatware laid out as it should be, the white tablecloth and fresh flowers (the last of the summer zinnias) gave it an elegant feeling. The only tea available was PG Tips, but that suited us just fine. The menu selections were very good. My husband had the shrimp and grits, I chose Chef Myrna's famous chicken salad (we both sampled each other's entees) and the side dishes were delicious, too. The homemade relish gave it an autumnal effect with the red, orange and yellow colors in the pickle. As we were finishing our meal, Chef Myrna came to our table to make sure we had enjoyed our meal. She is a thoroughly delightful lady and we will return. Afternoon tea service is available by reservation, and I'm definitely returning with some of my girlfriends for that.

High tea at Tea on the Mountain was delightful. A variety of creative foods were served (Scotch eggs, Maids of Honour tarts and coconut balls, to name a few) and were accompanied by stories of their historical significance as shared by Pat. Everything was fresh and hand prepared. The service was exceptional. It was worth the drive from Nashville just for the scones, lemon curd and clotted cream!!! Thank you Myrna and Pat!

This was one of the best tea rooms I have ever experienced. We drove 100 miles one way for high tea and will make the drive again. Everything was prepared fresh and was homemade. Even the pastry was homemade. The variety was outstanding. The setting was lovely. The couple that own the tea room were so nice and friendly plus gave outstanding service. I highly recommend going.

Lovely experience. The tea room itself is not the emphasis here. Lovely couple who own and do most all the work. Interesting selection of foods without being weird. One of our group's favorite locations. Highly recommend.

One wouldn't expect such a gem in this location, but we were delightfully surprised. My mother recommended Tea on the Mountain, and I'm so glad she did. High Tea was a lovely experience (a word of warning: bring your appetite). I'm still reeling from the variety of treats and truly unique offerings!

What a delightful experience! Pat and Myrna Nesbit's food and service are outstanding. Each table is set with a different pattern of fine china, silver flatware, crystal, and fresh flowers or plants. Their High Tea is one of the most authentic examples of an English high tea available in this country. Their lunches are delicious and their special five course gourmet dinners are not to be missed. Myrna's homemade fudge pie and chess pie are so often requested sometimes she runs out. The delectable scones that she serves with every tea are homemade also using Myrna's own personal recipe. If you have an opportunity to visit their Tea on the Mountain, I promise that you will want to return very soon.

We had high tea and it was well worth the visit. Homemade, unique, and delicious treats at every course. The creamy potato soup and scones were particularly good. The hosts were warm and gracious and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Each table had unique and beautiful china and silver settings that added to the relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend Tea on the Mountain.

Well another enjoyable afternoon at my favorite tea room. Do not be deceived by the understated outside appearance. Once you step inside expect to enter another world. From lunch to high tea, it is one enjoyable, relaxing experience after another. Before you know it 2 or 3 hours have passed. Pat and Myrna will treat you so special. I especially like the historical stories with high tea that Pat shares. The food always delights. The portions are generous....yet exquisite. They do have beautiful pieces for sale as well as art work. I would recommend high tea at least once. It to me is their speciality. Thanks again Pat & Myrna!

We took our grown son and his wife to lunch for the delicious food Myrna prepares and Pat serves. The atmosphere is enhanced by the beautifully set tables (each one with a different fine china pattern), and soft music in the background. We each ordered a different entree; crab-stuffed flounder, quiche, crab cakes and a chicken salad plate. Every plate went back absolutely clean. The food and the gracious service made the meal a real treat. The prices are certainly reasonable. We highly recommend Tea on the Mountain in Tracy City, TN.

My husband and I drove from Ringgold, GA, to this tearoom, and it was definitely not worth the trip for me. I visit a lot of tearooms in Georgia and Tennessee, and the food we received was mediocre and overpriced--not a lot of food for the money either. No one was in the restaurant when we arrived and only one other couple showed up before we left. The decor was not nicely decorated like a lot of tearooms, either. It just wasn't a really good experience for us. We don't drink hot tea, so maybe that is the draw. The food is not.

another good thing about this tea room is it is also comfortable for men to go.It was worth the 130 mile round trip. Would love to go back.

Enjoying Afternoon Tea here was an enjoyable experience. We went with the 4-course Tea, but they also offer a 6-course High Tea. When first pulling up to the building, we weren't sure what to expect. It's a rather drab looking building with limited windows. However, the inside is what counts, and they have done a wonderful job of transforming it into a beautiful tea room. They proudly serve loose leaf PG Tips tea. All the morsels were hand made by Mrs. Nesbit, and we were waited on by Mr. Nesbit, who also kept us entertained with the history of the area, trivia about the food, and how their shop came to be. The highlight of the meal was the sweet Maids of Honor. Delicious! The Nesbits are delightful hosts. Tracy City is an easy off/on sidetrip from the interstate. We will definitely visit them again.

Tea on the Mountain is one of my favorite places. The food is always delicious. The atmosphere is most pleasant and relaxing. The hosts are most gracious.

It may not look like much on the outside but once you walk through the doors it is divine. Just follow the simple directions it is not hard to find ( Right beside the traffic light).

I am looking forward to going for lunch again very soon.

Excellent location, easy to get to - directions are simple and as it is located directly beside a stoplight, you can't miss it. From the outside you truly wouldn't expect to walk into a tearoom but I think that is part of the charm - you can get away from the traffic and the people, it's like stepping into a different world where linens are always white, flowers are always fresh, the tea is always hot (or iced, depending on your preference) and your china teacup is always refilled before it empties. The food is delicious, made on site by the in-house chef and explained upon serving by one of the owners himself.

Truly an experience for those who are tearoom connoisseurs as well as newcomers to the tea world.

Tea on the Mountain is by far the best tearoom I have visited. It is actually a tearoom, not just a restaurant. You eat on fine china with real silverware. Not just a tea room, but a gourmet restaurant, as well! We had a truly delicious dinner on 4/17/10. Five courses included melon with ham, pan-fried tilapia with orzo, (perfect) prime rib with asparagus and potatoes, crisp salad and a decadant chocolate torte. The tilapia was heavenly and I'm not a fish eater. Everything we've had at Tea on the Mountain has been wonderful. We'll be back soon!

I took my mom and a friend here for lunch. The atmosphere is charming, elegant and just wonderfully relaxing. Music was a selection of equally relaxing piano solos. The food was superb; the Scotch eggs were the best I've ever had and the Neptune salad was fresh and delicious. Myrna's tomato soup was great as were her desserts: homemade flan, almond cake with clotted cream and a light luscious lemon sponge cake with lemon curd (all homemade!). If you are in the vicinity, you shouldn't miss this lovely place. Happily, it's right in our backyard and we will come back often! I give it 5 stars enthusiastically!
