I arranged to arrive at 3:30 but arrived 30 minutes late, however, Blanch was gracious enough to seat me and my guest. The service, though they were closing in an hour was calm and unhurried. Blanch occasionally chatted with us about the tearoom and her family, but her presence was never intrusive. The food was beautifully presented and plentiful. Most importantly, it tasted great and was made fresh on the premises! The lemon curd, though not made by Blanch, was the best I've ever had! I’ve had tea in several places in Baltimore and Ellicott City, Maryland, as well as Washington, DC and Virginia and this place is one of the best—it is welcoming, relaxing, and unpretentious. The surrounding area is wonderful with numerous shops and boutiques. Enjoying tea at the Serenity Tearoom, strolling in the historic district, and shopping are great ways to spend an afternoon.
