dropped by this tea room for an unplanned lunch as their website claimed 'reservations recommended, not mandatory'. We were informed they prefer reservations when we arrived (a party of 2) and they proceeded to seat us and start the tea. About 3 times trhoughout the tea, we were reminded that they would like reservations next time and when we were leaving another party came out of the kitchen, presented us with a business card and re-iterated that in the future they will only be taking people with reservations. If their desire was to make sure we were totally uncomfortable - they receive the highest possible marks for that. Having had our first tea in London, this is a special treat that my daughter and I enjoy (I live in Seattle and her in Hillsboro) when we get together. Had their web stated reservations only, we surely would not have darkened their door and they can be sure that we shall not bring our nor any of of friends business to their establishment. Quite a shame considering the wedding this year will mean more visits and opportunities for tea. This visit was March 2014.
