Henry's Antiques, Collectibles & Tearoom
We had a group of 15 and everyone 'raved' about Henry's Tearoom. We all sat at one large table in our own room where we felt free to talk and laugh without bothering other guests. Between us all we tried all four entrees (Green apple and pecan chicken salad; turkey paninis; sundried tomatoe quiche; and shrimp salad) and absolutely everyone agreed the food was fresh and delicious. Sometimes you feel slightly hungry after a tearoom luncheon, but not so here we all loaded up on shortbread cookies and cup after cup of tea before we even ordered lunch! The desserts (lemon tart, carrot cake and brownies with caramel sauce and pecans - YUM!) were also very good and well-sized. We could not have enjoyed the meal more! We also made the rounds through all the different rooms of the refabbed 'church' to do some antique shopping. it was tru;y a fun time. A number of us went up and down the adjacent blocks of downtown Lee's Summit and visited some of the interesting little boutiques and shops - all had interest and character all of their own. This does not have to be just a place to have lunch and look at antiques, several of us made a whole afternoon of shopping and walking around this very charming little district. We had a wonderful time!
