High Tea Cottage
I have been coming to this Tea House since they opened, and have been watching it grow, I have always found it to be excellent. They have a a really good selection of over 60 different varieties of tea, all premium loose leaf. The menu is complete with English, French and Australian selection as well as traditional High Tea representation. The curried egg and chicken tea sandwiches are the best many of us have ever tasted. The tables are always set with fresh flowers, the china is exquisite and the food presentation reminiscent of the finest hotels with fresh flowers on the plates. They offer lump sugar, milk not half and half as many other places do and fresh lemon. A preserve cart is brought to the table to choose the accompaniment to your scones and they are freshly baked, warm and tasty. The desserts are all made on the premises and we always take home a to go box as there is so much food served. Unlike many of the other tea establishments, the food is not all served at once but comes in courses to savor and enjoy every mouthful. You need to allow about 2 hours when going to enjoy the ambiance and this little oasis. The service is professional and friendly and the menu is always explained fully to new guests I take. I highly recommend the High Tea Cottage over any other in Los Angeles County, and we have been to most over the years, go see for yourself and if you have the Royal High Tea served on the Lady Hamilton china, ask Dr. Ken to tell you the story behind it, it is absolutely fascinating. Looking forward to many, many more memorable occasions.
