Victorene's Tea
Last weekend a large group of my friends and family attended Victorene's Tea Titanic Teas. As you drive upon the house, you just know you are in for one special day. It is charming outside and in. The porch was a favorite for me with pale gray and white victorian trimwork. It is such a romantic wrap around porch! Wicker furniture and rockers await you with floral pillows and they even have classical music playing outide! We just sat and talked and enjoyed the porch and roses and landscaping until teatime. If you choose, there is a room to wait inside that has a slideshow of the restoration of the 1800's Victorian landmark home. The house itself is so beautiful and decorated to perfection. I just adored the host, Chris. She takes her time with each guest and makes you feel like you have known her forever! The tables are decorated to perfection with antiques china and silver blended with newer pieces. The linens were beautiful as well and when she brought the food-well lots of ohhhh's and ahhhh's! She started us with a summer salad of cucumbers on a bed of organic greens with a fresh dill dressing. It was the best salad I think I have ever had! I wanted to lick my plate clean. Then, the rest of the tea food was brought on these 3 tier stands and it was loaded! There were these berry sandwiches that were so pretty I didn't want to eat them and honey ham wrap sandwiches and blueberry scones, and these teacakes that tasted like a gouremt doughnut, but so light they melted in your mouth! Also chocolate truffles. Have to say her scones were the best scones I have ever had! Also, the presentation of the food was amazing. We just sat and looked at it for awhile not wanting to touch it! The theme of the Titaic was fun and loved the reading from the movie. I will be going back as Chris does something almost each month with different themes. I would also reccomend Victorene's for a birthday party or bridal shower or baby shower. Nothing would be better that to have tea there for any reason!
