This is a wonderful Tea Shop, my first experience was a few months back when my friend Ivy took me there for my birthday. I have since been back several times. There is a tea cart where over 150 teas are presented and available for you to smell. The gentleman who helped us was informing, funny and it wasn’t too much trouble as we changed our minds over and over. Jen the owner assisted us with our menu selection from the largest we have ever seen in a place such as this. My friend selected the Traditional Tea, my choice was the English Afternoon Tea. Both were served and presented beautifully with fresh floral to add to the presentation and were tasty and fresh. Our scones came straight out of the oven and a sweet young server named Britt offered us a selection of no less than 5 preserves to accompany the best scones either of us have every encounted. Our Teas were constantly refilled and we had fresh china served with every course. My trifle took be back to my Granny’s homemade from over 50 years ago and Ivy’s traditional selection was both very pleasing to the eye and tasty. I have returned several times since with new friends and the owners Jen and Ken have made us feel warm and welcome each time. The food offered is always very fresh, beautifully prepared and presented just right, their portions are large and one is given plenty of choices, you certinally don’t leave here hungry. There is a lot of service and the staff are professional and friendly, like a family. We highly recommend the High Tea Cottage for any special occasion or just pop in for the Tea and Scones, well worth the $15 charge. You may have to wait a few minutes while they bake them for you. The tea is bottomless and I have been served more than 1 choice without an extra charge. Since when has a restaurant given a birthday gift for celebrating a birthday, well the this place does, it is definitely well worth a visit.
