The atmosphere is inviting and they are in a nice historical building. The first time I went we had their Victorian Tea and I was very disappointed. Their tomato sandwich is a slice of tomato with American cheese on white bread. The raisin scone was the best part. However, I was surprised by their use of packaged goods - crackers, cheese slices and caramel cookies - served right on the 3 tiered plates. The dusty fake flowers and plastic solo cups that the lemon curd and clotted cream were served in should be done away with. Their limited selection of teas was also disappointing and what they did serve was rather average. I wanted to try it again to give them another chance because they do seem like nice people and the second time it was much better. I just ordered off their lunch menu: Quiche and soup. Go but order off the lunch menu and don't try to get too fancy.

They have a shop/dining room in the front and the main dining room is in the back. It's big enough to hold large groups. They serve delicious sandwiches, soups and salads or you can order the three tier service for something extra-special. The chicken velvet soup was yummy. If you're not sure about a tea (they have lots to choose from - see them on the wall up front) they will let you sample. Plus they have free refills on their teapots which I appreciated very much. Very good and attentive service. Looking forward to going again soon!
