  • Lovejoy's Tea Room

I have always had a good time at Lovejoy's. The tea and food always fill me and I like the mismatched china. The service is generally friendly and efficient; I always have enough tea in my pot. I go here with my father and he loves to see all of the women being comforable and chatty and girly--it is like a secret women's universe that men rarely see.

  • Far Leaves

I love this place. It is casual, but has really good tea. There are all kinds of seating options, but none like the one pictured as of my review date. They have some nice cookies, but if you want food, you can buy it and bring it in--they are cool with it. There are many people who work there, so the artistry of tea preparation is variable, but usually really good. Sometimes I have to ask when I should pour my water, and they tell me about bubble size and steeping time, too. This is a good place.

  • Teance

I visit this shop when I am in the area only if I am not hungry and if I don't want my tea served with milk or sugar. They do sometimes have some popped rice and seaweed crunchy, savory things that I break for. I like the austere decor and the selection of books. I find this place pricey, but I recommend it and I have had good service each time I have visited.

  • Captain's Cottage

This place is cute, but the food is terrible. Everything came from a can or the freezer and there was a lot of fish. It was all salty, too. Our server was really sweet and interactive and her grandson came in for a cup of tea while we were there. Also, there was the smell of not-so-stale smoke in the air and it gave me a headache. There are loads of cute things for sale, but mostly made in China. This place just misses the mark for me.

  • Tea Room Cafe

I love the food at the Tea Room Cafe and the tea is made well. The service is fine, although not overly friendly. I love the odd paintings and the ravens around the room. I recommend this place because the food is so good, but it is unlikely to be your most memorable tea ever.
