This is my favorite of all tea houses and I have been to many. What sets it apart is the amount of room they have to work with. This was originally a fire house and the bays where the fire trucks parked have been turned into beautiful areas for tea. One is a Teddy Bear room with a wall full of teddy bear decorated window boxes. They change the outfits and themes in the window boxes for each holiday. Another area is the Whimsical Room with a custom made purple chandelier. It also has a wall of window boxes with tea items such as teapots in them. They have a beautiful round booth that looks like a fancy tea cup from the outside. It is deep red velvet on the inside. There is a huge selection of tea. It is loose and available for purchase. The food is amazing. They start you off with a small shortbread cookie and sorbet. After that comes the soup and the salad. Then they bring out the 3 tiered server loaded with sandwiches, scones and sweets. It is an hour drive from my home but I went back 3 times in the first year after experiencing it. The service is wonderful. There is also a wonderful gift shop. I am totally hooked on their tea hats for sale. I have purchased 3 so far. If you want to visit on a weekend make sure you have reservations. Weekdays are much quieter.
