They have forgotten how to serve a proper pot of tea. We have visited every summer for years watching quality and service slowly slip. The last time I was served one scone that was undercooked and one that was tiny and hard. The used to bill this as an elegant tea, not anymore. We were served a wilted salad to start afternoon tea. Really? And had to order a half sandwich, no more finger sandwiches. And no more tiered trays, instead too many plates on a cafe table. The slide is complete and this place is to be avoided.

What is so impressive is the china collection that is actually used. One is served on this fine colorful china and each diners place setting is unique. The place is very colorful and inviting. The foods are homemade and very delicious but I can sympathize with those who dealt with them running out of things, no lemon curd and no milk for tea, had to use half&half. The scone was fresh and generous, as was the portion of quiche, Sandwiches and desserts a little small for the price but very tasty. A little pricey but I still recommend The Butterfly Tea Room and will return the next time we are in Cape May.
