We recently had a very large family reunion and as a special treat - we hosted a tea party for about 35 ladies. Grace allowed us to arrive a few minutes early and place our family cookbook and favors at the tables before everyone arrived. We had the most wonderful tea. The trays were absolutely beautiful and the Chicken Salad Croissants are the best. We all had a wonderful time and everyone was made to feel very special by our very pleasant and attentive servers. And of course, Grace's scones are to die for. If you ever need to host a special gathering - this is the place to go. Thank you Grace for making our reunion tea party such special one!

Our reservations were made in advance and when my daughter, grandaughter and I arrived we were seated promptly. The rooms in our view were only half occupied so not real busy. Our curteous waitress smiled everytime she passed us and told us she would bw right with us. After 15 min, she came and asked for our drink order - puzzled we replied hot tea. Another 10 min passed before she returned with our tea and some goldfish crackers for my grandaughter. After a while we flagged down our waitress (she always seemed to be very busy) and asked for another pot of tea and some sugar as there was none on our table. After another 10-15 min she came back and said she was ready to take our order. Puzzled we told her our reservation was for aftenoon tea - she acted very surprised and doubtful that they could serve us and went to find the owner. After I repeated our phone conversation to the owner, she remembered, apologized and said that she had a large group coming in later and she was sure she could throw something together for us. Not the 'special tea experience' we were hoping for and I can honestly say it ruined the special treat I had planned for my daughter. We were served our scones first with no Devonshire Cream, but we were so hungry we said nothing. Next came soup, which was wonderful and the 3-tier tray, which was pretty in presentation. However, everytime we were served tea we had to ask for sugar and we were brought only a few cubes at a time. When we got to dessert we were told they had run out of sugar. This was totally unbelievable then and now (remember they had a large party coming in after us, and this is not a rural location - there are many stores very close by). This tea experience took us well over 3 hours - The service was cheerfully SLOW. We had asked for some milk for my grandaughter and after all we went through, we were shocked to find an additional $4.50 on our bill for milk. We will not be back, as there are too many wonderful tea rooms in Tampa to bother with Mrs. T Potts.
