My daughter, mother and I have been to tea in places all over. I was very disappointed when we came here as this tea room is closer to our house than most. The server told us that scones are supposed to be hard as a rock. I have never had that before in my life. I will say our tea was loose leaf and good. The other problem that I had was that there were so many flies inside the tea room that it really distracted from the experience. My daughter was quiet and I was told that she maybe was not suitable to go to tea. I had to explain that she had been to tea many times before. I will not go back.
The cold strawberry soup was amazing. My two year old wanted to eat the whole bowl herself. The scones were as light as air and were so delicious with the homemade jam and American style Devonshire cream. The selections of loose leaf teas made it so hard to choose but the Hazelnut Vanilla was delightful. The sandwiches were excellent I even enjoyed the egg salad sandwich and I usually don't eat egg salad. The desserts were all fabulous as well. The service was wonderful and this was a nice place for my daughter to have tea for the first time. The tearoom was quiet and peaceful.
My husband took me here for my birthday. The table setting was lovely and the selection of teas were outstanding. The scones were great as well as the rest of the food. A really quaint tea room.
