For my mom's 65th birthday, my sisters and I threw a party at The High Tea Cottage. We were very pleased with the beautiful decor and relaxing atmosphere. The guitarist was fabulous and so was our server. The chef (also the owner), however, refused to accommodate any special dietary needs. On the contrary, we found ourselves having to accommodate the chef. She rudely interrupted our party and then threw down the menu and huffed away after some of our guests requested the hollandaise sauce on the side. She was very gracious at the end of our party when she gave a necklace from her gift shop to my mother and a teaspoon to each of the two children. Although a generous gesture, it did not make up for her previous outburst and the uncomfortable scene she had caused in front of our guests. Nonetheless, we were a lively and happy bunch, we didn't let her sour behavior ruin our fun, and the tea was a great success. I doubt any of us will return to the High Tea Cottage due to the overall lack of service we received from the owner.
