High Tea Cottage
When my friend suggested High Tea to celebrate my upcoming birthday, I was enthused. However, the High Tea Cottage so far exceeded my expectations. The ambiance is lovely, quaint and serene. I felt as though I could have been sitting in a small cottage in London. I am inexperienced with tea and so the extensive selection was a little intimidating at first. But the Cottage's owner, Jenn, was so very helpful and I enjoyed the peach-apricot black tea so much that I purchased some tea for my friend and I to each take home. I am sipping some now as I write! The exceptional fare (prepared to order!)was fresh, scrumptious and plentiful. Most impressive was the fact that each of the five courses came out at a leisurely pace. Unlike so many other dining establishments where one feels rushed as each course arrives with the clearing of plates from the preceding course, we felt as though we were welcome to spend the afternoon and indeed we did! I felt very aristocratic enjoying this wonderful English tradition served on traditional, authentic bone china. It is clear that Jenn and Ken are commited to excellence and you will find yourself hating to leave the coziness of their extended home. I cannot wait to return. Thank you SO MUCH, Jenn and Ken!
