Linde Lane Tearoom
While visiting northern California from Orange County, I spent a most delightful rainy afternoon at Linde Lane Tearoom in Dixon, California. The ambiance of the tearoom is warm and inviting, with rich deep colors, beautiful, comfortable antique chairs and sofas, and touches of whimsy in the displays of teddy bears, hat collections, and the iconic teacup booth. I loved the varied seating areas for groups. There was a baby shower happening in one area, a young girl's princess birthday in another,and a 'girls' afternoon out' in yet another space. Everyone seemed to be having a grand time.I thought the tea and food were excellent. I had the Royal Tea with Ginger Peach tea. Delicious! The food was wonderful, from the scone with clotted cream and raspberry curd, to the sandwiches - egg salad and chicken pesto. (I applaud leaving the crust on. There is enough senseless waste in the world!) The small molten chocolate cake and lemon cookie were to die for!! The staff was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The owner happened to be sitting nearby and I saw her go over to the young birthday girl and give her one of the tearoom's teddy bears as a gift. That personal touch was the best part of all. I can't wait to bring my granddaughter here for her fourth birthday in August. We'll have a real tea party and she will get to be the princess! And we'll be sure to reserve the teacup booth.
