The Wilmington Tea Room
My husband and I had afternoon tea while we were in Wilmington for our 29th wedding anniversary. This tearoom is very nice, clean and in order. I have been to some tearooms that are just not clean and look dirty with heavy drapes that look like they have been hanging on the windows for decades and room colors so dark that it makes one feel as if they were in a cave. Not here, the room is cheerful with pretty white tablecloths and windows that are clean and shinny. Where you can sit on the deck by the water if you like and enjoy your tea. The girls that where there that day were so friendly and talked with us about the teas and the other foods that were offered. They made me feel very welcome. The tea was delightful, with warm scones, clotted cream and yummy finger sandwiches that were very tasty. The soup my husband had was very good and the salad I had was fresh and crisp with just the right amount of dressing. I own a tearoom myself and I look for things that other people may not. I was very impressed. The owner was not there that day, but I can assure her that things were carried out very professionally. Next time I come to this town you can bet I will return.
