Simpson House Tea Room
This was a wonderful experience--from the lovely Easter themed teas to the food and our great waitress from Australia. The 'vanilla cream egg' loose tea was great--smelled as good as it tasted. The loose berry/currant tea tasted much better than the aroma it had. The waitress even brought us a timer for the tea steeping. The high tea tray was a nice selection and the sconces and breads were very moist. The food selections were great--very hard to choose so I will just have to go back for some of the nonhigh tea items such as the ploughmans special. Pecan tart was delicious but beware it is very hot intially. The decor and china fit the relaxing victorian atmosphere. We did not feel rushed and everyone was friendly. WE wanted to work there too. Could use a little warmer paint on the walls to warm things up a bit. Highly recommend it --just call ahead to verify the hours.
