Please disregard my last review (6 times...)! I was writing about a different tea room by mistake! I actually loved Tea By Two,one of the best ones I've been to in terms of quality of food. Nice gift shop too. Pretty fabrics inside for tables, etc. Will be going back soon~!

    Tearoom response:

Thank you for taking the time to review our tea room. We appreciate all comments from our custmers. We did want to make a few comments regarding this review. Our prices for tea have not increased, as we still charge $14.95 for High Tea. We do change our menu, however on a weekly not monthly basis and we do make all of our own desserts on the premises. Again, thank you and we look forward to seeing you again.

I go here several times a year and love the casual, yet elegant atmosphere, the hot scones from the oven with jam and whipped cream, the unique and high-quality daily specials, and the gift shop, which is the best of the many tea shops I've been to. The service is efficient, but not overly charming like you may find at a more family style tea room. This place has been rated as one of the top tea rooms in north America and featured in Victoria Magazine. An excellent value for the money - afternnon tea is $10.95 and cream tea is $5. Daily specials include a quiche, an entree, and a homemade soup. My favorite is the chicken, parsley, & leek pie in pastry crust. They also offer some beer and sherry I think. They hve a fbulous dessert table filled with pies, cakes, square bar desserts, and tarts, ALL HOMEMADE! You must try this place. I like it as much as the Ritz for tea, although it is a completely different experience.

I went with my mother to this tearoom last year (2004), an hour's drive, and wasn't disapointed. We both had afternoon tea, but my mother had coffee with hers. The sandwiches were nicely presented and I have tried to recreate one at home that had something like almond-cherry flavored cream cheese piped onto a toast round. The atmosphere is pleasant in an old home (like 17 or 1800's). They have a small gift shop that included some Red Hatter items at the time. They also served a granita (flavored shaved ice) between courses and gave a teacup shaped chocolate with the check. I reccommend goign. With regard to the reviewer who's party was charged for the cancelled person, I would suggest this is a standard policy with large parties, especially at tea rooms that often make pastries, etc. in advance. They should have stated the policy though, I agree.
