My husband and 4-year old daughter took me to Serenity Tearoom for my birthday. Serenity Tearoom is simple and very friendly. It does not have that stuffiness or pretentiousness sometimes found at other tearooms. Serenity Tearoom offers a wide selection of teas. My husband, who is not an avid tea drinker like me, loved the hazelnut vanilla tea. The food is homemade and delicious - really enjoyed the butternut squash soup. The owner, Blanch Henry, served us and she was very personable. She was so accommodating to our daughter. She was an absolutely lovely lady. If you get the chance, you have to meet her. It was superb service - including the added artistic birthday treat at the end. The only negatives I have is that the dining room can be a little noisy and the sight of paper napkins can be a little off-putting; but the overall experience was lovely - very comparable to british tearooms, such as Auntie's Tea Shop in Cambridge (visited in 1996).
