  • Gryphon Tea Room

I dined at the Gryphon Tearoom two weeks ago. My friend ordered off the menu and enjoyed her meal and I had the afternoon tea. The tea consisted of several finger sandwiches (ham and cucumber) two almond scones, a fruit topped cookie, a mini eclair (sp?), and a cream filled puff pastry. They leave the tea leaves in their pots, but the waiter was willing to decant it for me, though he seemed confused by my asking this. I guess most people don't mind, but I think the tea gets too strong and if it's a green tea, bitter. The atmosphere is unique and it is definately a nice place to stop for a bite as you're meandering down the gorgeous Savannah streets.

  • Kimberly Ann's Victorian Tearoom

We arrived at Kimberly's and found hats and feathered boas waiting at our chairs. It was a quiet day and we had the country style tearoom to ourselves. The owner and her Granddaughter(?)were very pleasant and hospitable. We selected our tea from the Bigelow teabags offered. Lunch consisted of a delicious soup, a variety of finger sandwiches, and a brownie sundae for dessert. Though it wasn't fancy, it was a pleasant afternoon and very filling.
